** DeRoehn is heavily involved in coaching at the youth and grass roots level.  Mike DeRoehn was named Head Wrestling Coach at UW-Platteville in June 2014.  In his first season, DeRoehn led Trent Larson to the first individual WIAC Championship for UW-Platteville since 2010.  The Pioneers went on to finish tied for third place as a team at the 2015 NCAA West Region.  This was the top finish for UW-Platteville since the NCAA instituted the regional format for wrestling.  Six student-athletes finished in the top six at the Regional, marking the most individual place winners the Pioneers have ever earned at the event. Furthermore, three student-athletes qualified for the NCAA National Tournament, the most in a season for UW-Platteville since 2007. In 2016, the Pioneers continued to improve with three wrestlers appearing in the finals of the WIAC Championship, the most since 2006.  Scott Arneson earned an individual WIAC Championship and was named Outstanding Wrestler of the meet. The team went on to claim third place outright at the NCAA West Regional and set a new school record with eight student-athletes earning a top six finish on the podium.  Five Pioneer student-athletes qualified for the NCAA Championship, the most in a season since 1998, as well as three team members earning Academic All-American honors.
