Join Youth Wrestling

Welcome to the Mineral Point Wrestling Program

Practice Begins:   November 10th (Tuesday)

Practice will be every Tuesday and Thursday

Age:  Pre-K through 5th grade

Time:  5:30 – 7:00 pm

Place:  In the high school wrestling room.  Come in the front doors and take the first left and continue down the hall until you come to stairs on the right.  Once down stairs the wrestling room is right there on the right.

Pointer Pride Tournament:  December 4th (Friday).  This will take place before our JV/Varsity wrestling match.  It usually starts around 5, but time will be determined later.

Information about our program:  Our youth practices are run by several coaches.  They work on basic wrestling skill for the first few weeks.  We host the Pointer Pride tournament so the kids can wrestle on the big mat.  They get paired up into age/weight/ability levels.  This is a fun experience to introduce wrestling to our youth.  We don’t keep score and everyone receive a medal.  They also get to run out with the varsity wrestlers before the varsity match.  After Pointer Pride the kids are all welcome to practice every Tuesday and Thursday at the same time until March.  This is not just for our kids that wrestle in federation.  Anyone is welcome to just come to practice and participate.  We do not expect you to do tournaments.  Every kid is different and we hope you help them pick what’s best for them.  We can answer any questions you have about anything.  Contact Tori Carey if you have questions (608) 574-5327 and she can get you any of the coach’s phone numbers.  We also send out club emails with information about practices and all our club things.  Check out our website at www.mineralpointwrestling.com
